 THEME:
Copenhagen collector and Christmas plates. Besides the B&G Christmas plates -
several interesting plates was issued by Bing & Grøndahl to
commemorate special occasion since 1895. Information is scarce - so
if you are a collector and will be able to add to photos or
information below - please let me know. This
series was started because of the great success of the Christmas plate.
It is concaved and features religious scenes on almost off of the
plates. The plates were designed by some of the top artists working for
B&G during this period yet it never caught on as well as the Christmas
plates had and was therefore discontinued in 1935.
The Easter plates have become very collectable over the past decade
and are now collected as much as the Mother’s Day plates. To learn about finding the
